For generations, the young people of Benton County have been surrounded by agriculture. Growing up in a farming community taught us how to work hard, think straight, and care about others.
Bushels for Benton, first launched in 2007, is an advantageous way for farmers to give to their community. The proceeds from your gift of grain are used to continue ag-based education of our youth through the local 4-H and FFA programs.
Supporting Bushels for Benton is EASY!
- Determine how many bushels you would like to donate to the program.
- Transfer or deposit your gift of grain into the Benton Community Foundation account at your local elevator.
- Keep records of your donation in case there is a tax advantage.
Once the Foundation receives the proceeds from your gift of grain, the donation will be split between permanent funds earmarked for the 4-H and FFA programs here in Benton County.
By designating a portion of your grain to this program, prior to sale, you avoid self-employment tax and, sometime, income taxes on your gift.
Get more bang for your buck...donate grain to Bushels for Benton!
