Read more about your Benton Community Foundation online, or download the following documents... * 2004 Benton County Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship application SENIOR HEALTH FAIR: Janet Gretencord Wins Grand Prize Benton Community Foundation hosted the 2003 Senior Citizens Health Fair at Fowler Elementary School on September 25, 2003. More than 200 seniors participated in the fair and had access to free health screenings including: clinical prostrate and PSA screenings; clinical breast exams; cholesterol; blood sugar, blood pressure, oxometer screenings. Health information was available from over 30 vendors. Denny's Pharmacy provided a light and delicious lunch to all participants. Vendors, Board members and the Foundation provided door prizes. Janet Gretencord of Fowler won the grand prize - A Purdue Musical Organization Christmas Concert Weekend. She'll enjoy two tickets to the PMO Christmas Show, overnight accomodations, and dinner and breakfast at the Purdue Memorial Union. NEW COLLABORATION: 4-H comes to Fowler After-School Program After-school participants now have the opportunity to join 4-H and complete projects during their after-school program when homework is finished. Students in grades K-6 can choose to take a Yoga-Fit class and go on awesome field trips: Columbia Park Zoo, Imagination Station, and even the Chicago Aquarium plus see Lake Michigan and the BIG CITY. The Foundation hopes to extend this program to every elementary school in March 2004 with a matching grant to local funding. Watch for more details.
