Fischbach Reading and Writing Grants Announced

BCF is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2006 Marilyn Fischbach Reading and Writing Grants totaling $4225.

Cathy Coats and Lois Francis - "Corn-The Amazing Grain," an interdisciplinary unit about one of Benton's most important agricultural products

Sheryl McMillan - purchase of an ELMO projector for art classes

Karen Gudeman - purchase of percussion instruments for general music classes

Alice Thurston, Sandy Callahan, Margot Gobel, Sue Cox, Elaine McIntosh, Tracy Best, and Barb Holmes - instructional materials for literacy groups reading above grade level in first and second grades

Congratulations to teachers who are enhancing their instructional programs for high achieving students with opportunities for career exploration, arts education, and advanced literacy instruction.
