Foundation Announces Scholarship Winners

Benton Community Foundation awarded $260,000 in scholarships for college study beginning fall 2004 to residents of Benton County and/or graduates of Benton Community Schools.

The recipients include:

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship
Brittany Winebar, Lani Jones, Sarah Bennett

Irwin Family Endowment Scholarship
Molly Fields, Brooke Sims

Fitzgerald Family Endowment Schlarship
Cody Hughes, Mallory Wolfe

Margaret McGinnis Feathers Scholarship
Kaitlyn Deckard, Mike Sheetz

Caleb Dimmich Memorial Scholarship
Greg Irby

Davies-Ellis Scholarship
Amanda Sturgeon, Kevin Clute, Karli Gerlach

The Foundation scholarship committee was particularly pleased that in 2004, the newly named Davies-Ellis Scholarship became available through the trust of Elizabeth Davies Ellis. This scholarship was awarded to finalists of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. The Davies-Ellis Scholarship is a four-year award of $2,500 per year to be applied to the tuition of the recipient's choice at any college or university in the United States.
