Foundation Funds Living History Day

Benton Community Foundation partnered with Illiana Steam and Power Association to provide a living history day for 300 Benton Community Schools (BCS) students on May 7th. Joan Fry, Boswell Elementary teacher, was the driving force to bring a collaboration of community volunteers with expertise and farm equipment from the early 1900s together with BCS teachers, parent volunteer chaperones, and Foundation funding to provide an elegantly simple and "powerful" adventure to students in grades 2-5.

Enhancing educational opportunities in the county for students of all ages is a high priority for the Foundation.
