
Irwin Family Education Endowment Scholarship
Phebe Irwin established this award through the Irwin Family Education Endowment to provide scholarships for post-secondary education and training at accredited trade, skill, or craft schools that award certificates and/or degrees. Benton Community Foundation will award at least one scholarship for $1,500 per semester, for a maximum of four semesters to provide support for tuition, fees, books, and equipment.
Demonstrated academic success to be admitted to trade, skill, or craft program of applicant's choice is required. Academic preparation and volunteer or paid work experience with a clear link to the post-secondary program strengthen the application, e.g. high school auto mechanics courses leading to post-secondary diesel mechanics study. Demonstrated leadership in high school and community, including volunteer experiences, is expected. Contributing to the economy of Benton County through paid work or work on the family farm or business is expected.
