Margaret McGinnis Feathers Scholarship
Created in 1995, this scholarship was established to honor the life of Margaret McGinnis Feathers. A 1978 graduate of Benton Central High School, Margaret continued her basketball career while studying at Purdue University. At the young age of 32, her knowledge and outgoing personality landed her as the President of Irwin Union Bank of Shelbyville.
This Scholarship is meant to recognize those young athletes who are leading their lives with many of the same qualities that Margaret exhibited during her short lifetime: honesty, integrity, loyalty, leadership, and good character.
Applicants for this award must first be nominated by their varsity sport teammates for emulating the qualities and character for which Margaret will be remembered. The amount of the scholarship varies from year to year, based on earnings of the endowment fund.
Applications are available in the Benton Central Athletic Director's Office.
