Who We Are Founded in 1998, Benton Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, public charity established to benefit people, institutions, and communities primarily, but not exclusively, in Benton County. Donors can establish or contribute to endowed and non-endowed funds to benefit established charities, including religious institutions. Grants are awarded from fund earnings to support nonprofit organizations, in accordance with donors' interests. Funds are accounted for separately and commingled for investment purposes to maximize the value and growth of all our endowment resources. Benton Community Foundation is administered by a volunteer board of local citizens and managed by professionally trained staff. Benton Community Foundation practices non-discrimination in all Foundation activities including Board governance, donor services, grant making, and convening the Benton community for problem solving. Specifically, the Board makes decisions without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disabilities, and familial relations. Benton Community Foundation gives preference to persons with clear links to the County through residence, education attendance, and place of employment and to programs that serve Benton County residents, students, and employees. Our Mission The mission of Benton Community Foundation is to enhance community through civic leadership, philanthropy, and charitable economic development initiatives. |
